A support and social group for people who were born female but who feel that is not a complete or accurate assessment of who they are (FTMs) and their significant others, friends, families, and allies. Also organizer of the annual True Spirit FTM conference.
Family Pride Coalition
A national non-profit organization dedicated to advancing the well being of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender parents and their families through mutual support, community collaboration and public understanding.
Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD)
Organization dedicated to promoting and ensuring fair, accurate, and inclusive representation of individuals and events in all media as a means of eliminating homophobia and discrimination based on gender identity and sexual orientation.
Gender Education and Advocacy (GEA)
A national organization focused on the needs, issues and concerns of gender variant people in human society, seeking to educate and advocate for all human beings who suffer from gender-based oppression in all of its many forms.
GLBT National Help Center (GLBTNHC)
A non-profit, tax-exempt organization dedicated to meeting the needs of the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender (GLBT) community and those questioning their sexual orientation or gender identity. They have the largest GLBT resource database in the country and offer several different programs including two national hotlines: The Gay & Lesbian National Hotline at 888-THE-GLNH (888-843-4564) and The GLBT National Youth Talkline at 800-246-PRIDE (800-246-7743). All of the services are free and confidential.
GLBT Round Table (GLBTRT)
A unit of the American Library Association, founded in 1970 as the Task Force on Gay Liberation. They are the nation’s first gay, lesbian & bisexual professional organization. Each year, they present the Stonewall Book Awards (one for literature, one for non-fiction) to the best books with gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgendered themes.
Human Rights Campaign (HRC)
The largest U.S. lesbian and gay political organization founded in 1980, to effectively lobby Congress, provide campaign support to candidates for federal office, and work to educate the public on a wide array of topics affecting gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender Americans, including workplace, family and discrimination issues.
International Foundation for Gender Education (IFGE)
Has a very good site with a library of articles on almost every subject known to those who are “gender enhanced,” book store, movies and more!
Intersex Society of North America (ISNA)
A peer support, education, and advocacy group founded and operated by and for intersexuals: individuals born with anatomy or physiology which differs from cultural ideals of male and female. ISNA works to create a world free of shame, secrecy, and genital mutilation for intersex people.
National Center for Transgender Equality (NCTE)
A social justice organization working to make transgender people safe from discrimination and violence. They provides a national voice on fairness and equality for transgender and other gender different people in Washington, DC and provides resources and assistance to empower and strengthen localized efforts around the country.
National Gay and Lesbian Task Force (NGLTF)
Founded in 1973, works to eliminate prejudice, violence and injustice against gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people at the local, state and national level. As part of a broader social justice movement for freedom, justice and equality, NGLTF is creating a world that respects and celebrates the diversity of human expression and identity where all people may fully participate in society.
National Lesbian and Gay Law Association (NLGLA)
The only lawyer group that is an official affiliate of the American Bar Association and is GLBT inclusive in its mission statement, bylaws literature, Officers and Directors, and workshops. The group also offers the NLGLA Membership Directory for $10.
National Transgender Advocacy Coalition
The nation’s preeminent transgender civil rights organization, that works for the advancement of understanding and the attainment of civil rights for all transgendered and intersexed people in every aspect of society.
Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG)
An all volunteer, not-for-profit organization dedicated to helping parents and their gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and questioning children understand each other.
Renaissance Transgender Association, Inc.
A good support group for the transgendered with local chapters across the U.S.A.
Soul Force
An organization whose purpose is freedom for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people from religious and political oppression through the practice of relentless nonviolent resistance.
Tennessee Vals
One of the largest transgendered support groups in the mid-south that provides socialization, support and programs of interest to the transgendered community.
Tiffany Club of New England
A non-profit organization formed back in 1978 with its focus on helping others with issues of gender confusion, crossdressing, and transsexuality, and welcomes any and all contacts from people interested in support or information.
Transgender American Veterans Association (TAVA)
A non-profit organization formed to address the growing concerns of fair and equal treatment of the increasing population of transgender veterans and active duty service members, and to serve as an educational organization that will help the Veterans Administration and the Department of Defense to better understand the individuals they encounter who identify as being gender-different.
Transgender at Work (TAW)
A focal point for addressing workplace issues for the transgendered, providing resources for innovative employers who want to set their company employment policies to help their transgendered employees to be at their most productive, without spending energy hiding an important part of themselves and pretending to be something they are not. Its focus is on voluntary cooperation between employers and employees – advocacy for laws is outside its scope.

Trans-Gender Expressions
TGE was organized to fill a gap in the type and quality of resources available to the transgendered community on the World Wide Web. While not a commercial enterprise nor a political action group trying to change the world, they do offer resource information about such groups and encourage those that are interested to become involved in the issues. TGE is a peer based support organization of transgendered people who came together with the idea of helping other transgendered people, TG to TG, whether in our local community or through our outreach in internet-based chat.

A great site that offers a free version and a subscription version of its Web site. Loaded with information for the gender community, personals, pictures, chat rooms, and an interesting bulletin board.
The Transgender Fund
Exists to financially support qualified initiatives advancing the interests of the transgender community, with particular attention placed upon collaborative education, research, and public awareness programs among community organizations that foster the well-being of transgender individuals, their families, partners, friends, and the population-at-large.
Transgender Legal
Created to accelerate the legal freedom of transgenders, including (but not limited to) part-time crossdressers and full-time transsexuals. This site is dedicated to assist them and any other person who expresses any type of actual or perceived gender presentation that is at variance with bipolar, socially assigned gender presentations or gender identifications. Tri-Ess
The largest social and support group for hetereosexual crossdressers, their partners, family, and friends, with local chapters across the U.S.A. This site is loaded with information about crossdressing and places to get even more information. If you are planning to “come out” to your spouse or girlfriend / boyfriend, this is a must visit site before you tell anyone.
